History

Dentium was established in June 2000 by dentist Jung Sung-Min in collaboration with other clinicians, with the stated aim of making implant surgery more widely accessible. The company was originally named Biostech Co., Ltd. and adopted the Dentium name in August 2002.

Dentium was the first Korean company to successfully implement SLA (sandblasted, large-grit, acid-etched) surface treatment. It received CE certification in 2003 and FDA clearance in 2004. SuperLine reached market in 2001 and SimpleLine in 2006; the systems are now distributed in more than 80 countries.
