Neodent was founded in 1993 in Curitiba by dentist Geninho Thomé, and was the first company to manufacture quality dental implants in Brazil at a time when the domestic market depended entirely on imports.
Straumann bought into Neodent in 2012, seeking a credible position in the value segment without discounting its premium brand, and took full ownership in 2015. Neodent has kept its own R&D, manufacturing, and brand identity inside the group.
