Implant Innovations Inc. (3i) built its reputation on the Osseotite dual acid-etched surface and an extensive prosthetic component catalogue. Biomet acquired the company, which traded thereafter as Biomet 3i.
The 2015 Zimmer/Biomet merger placed Biomet 3i alongside Zimmer Dental. Both moved into ZimVie at the 2022 spinoff, and into private ownership under ARCHIMED in October 2025.
