History

Development of the Astra Tech Implant System began in 1985 in Mölndal, Sweden. The system built its reputation on documented marginal bone stability, supported by an unusually deep body of prospective clinical follow-up studies.

Astra Tech was part of the AstraZeneca group following the 1999 Astra/Zeneca merger. In June 2011 AstraZeneca sold it to Dentsply for $1.8 billion, then Dentsply's largest acquisition. The line continues today as the EV generation.
