History

Alpha-Bio Tec was founded in Israel in 1988 and grew through the 1990s and 2000s across European, Latin American, and Middle Eastern markets as a clinically credible alternative to the dominant premium systems.

Nobel Biocare acquired the company in February 2008 for $95 million, gaining its Tel Aviv manufacturing facility, R&D pipeline, and a market leadership position in Israel. Alpha-Bio Tec followed Nobel Biocare into Danaher in 2014 and into Envista Holdings at the 2019 spinoff.
