Swiss ceramic dental implant manufacturer, now part of CeramTec Group. Pioneer in two-piece ceramic implants with the ZERAMEX brand, offering metal-free zirconia implant solutions since 2005.
Zeramex was originally founded as Dentalpoint AG in 2005 in Spreitenbach, Switzerland, specializing in the development, manufacture, and distribution of two-piece ceramic implants. The company introduced the first generation of ZERAMEX ceramic implants (ZERAMEX Classic) at the IDS in 2009.
In 2012, Dentalpoint presented the first two-piece cemented ceramic implant system ZERAMEX T ZERALOCK. The company continued to innovate with the ZERAMEX (P)lus system (2013-2014) featuring a reversible secondary component, and the ZERAMEX P6 (2015), the first two-piece screw-retained ceramic implant made of non-metallic material.
In 2017, the fifth generation ZERAMEX XT system was launched and received FDA approval for the US market. In December 2017, Nobel Biocare entered the ceramic implant market through a partnership with Dentalpoint AG, selling ceramic implants manufactured by Dentalpoint under its own brand name.
In 2021, the CeramTec Group acquired Dentalpoint AG, strengthening the group's medtech market leadership in dental ceramic implants. The company was renamed CeramTec Schweiz GmbH (CeramTec Switzerland LLC) in February 2024.
Since the CeramTec acquisition, further partnerships have been established, including with SIC Invent (2022), BioHorizons and Camlog (2025). CeramTec Switzerland LLC is now an integral part of CeramTec's global network, with over 100 years of development and production experience in high-performance ceramics.
