Italian dental products manufacturer founded in 1934, originally focused on orthodontics and later expanding into dental implantology. Known for the XCN implant system and a strong commitment to education and research.
Leone S.p.A. was founded in 1934 by Mario Pozzi in Sesto Fiorentino, near Florence, Italy. The company started as a small artisanal business producing orthodontic products and adopted the Marzocco lion head as its symbol of Florentine identity.
After Mario Pozzi's death in 1961, his son Alessandro continued the business, developing production and commercialization of Leone products in Italy and abroad. From the late 1990s, his daughter Elena joined and is now the sole administrator of the company.
In 1993, Leone became a member of the OMA (Orthodontic Manufacturers Association - USA), which brings together the 12 global orthodontic product manufacturers.
In 2002, Leone extended its production into the dental implant market with the 'Sistema Implantare Leone', a complete line of implantology products. The company has since developed the XCN implant system with various prosthetic solutions.
In 2017, Leone acquired LeoneAmerica, its US distributor, and strengthened sales activities through investments in its French subsidiary Odontec. In 2019, Digital Service Leone was born as an innovative startup supporting dentists and orthodontists with digital products and tools.
Today, Leone operates from a 15,000 sqm facility with approximately 160 employees. The company maintains its own research center, the Centro Ricerche Biotecnologiche Dentali 'Marco Pozzi', and is certified to UNI EN ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards.
No cross-manufacturer compatibility is recorded for Leone yet.
