History

The business began in 1994 as Altatec Medizintechnische Elemente GmbH in Wurmberg, Baden-Württemberg. The Camlog brand name followed in 1999, and in 2004 the group was reorganised into Camlog Biotechnologies in Basel with Altatec GmbH and Camlog Vertriebs GmbH in Wimsheim. All Camlog products are still manufactured exclusively by Altatec.

Henry Schein invested in Camlog and subsequently acquired 100% of Camlog/Altatec. Camlog now operates with BioHorizons as BioHorizons Camlog under Henry Schein's Global Dental Surgical Group.
